A lot of Indians are still stranded insides their home country, unable to reach UAE for work since the breakdown of COVID-19. According to the travel advisory given by Emirates Airlines, anyone from India traveling to UAE must first take Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT‑PCR) a type of LAB test to identify Covid Sars strain in the Human body. The Lab must be approved by the UAE or Indian Government. To facilitate common people ICMR(Indian Council of Medical Research) published a list of approved laboratories for COVID testing. Labs that are only approved by ICMR can take PCR tests in real-time. It is important to know that the PCR test should not be taken more than 96 hours ago before departure.

The Cost of this test is paid by passengers but also make sure to ask your company in UAE for reimbursement. Each passenger is strictly checked at the airport no one is allowed to enter in UAE without a negative PCR test. Bring all reports related to the test make sure to see the list of approved medical labs published on the ICMR website. The test should be in document or certificate form no digital or SMS report will be entertained at the airport.

Travel eligibility

Flights to Dubai will be restricted only to the below passengers traveling to the UAE:

• UAE nationals
• Most importantly ICA/GDRFA approved UAE residents; and
• Any Indian national or national of Nepal or Bhutan destined for UAE or any country in South America or Africa only and holding a valid visa of the destination country.
• If you recently travel to the UK or Brazil make sure to ask the Airline for a Travel advisory.

ICMR Advisory for sample collection sites:

ICMR has no objection to the adoption of establishing convenient sample collection sites (drive-through centers for sample collection etc.) by the respective State Governments.
However, the following advice is provided by ICMR:

• The sample collection should be done using the recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• These sites should be disinfected regularly as per the recommended procedures.
• All recommended biosafety and biosecurity precautions should be implemented.
• Sample transport to the nearest COVID-19 testing laboratory should be ensured under proper cold-chain conditions and with triple-layered packing.
